Sun 13 October @ 5:53 pm

Experience a genuine paddock-to-plate adventure at Heritage Poultry Farm!

This is your chance to learn about the day-to-day operation of a working poultry farm and how the heritage meat chickens are raised. Guests can observe the pasture-raised farming systems in action and then have the chance to purchase award-winning produce directly from the farm.

In 2014, Heritage Poultry made the decision to produce a slower-growing meat chicken similar to those found in Europe. After several years of development, they are now very pleased with their Joyces Gold meat chickens. These chickens are quite active and well-suited to free-range farming. They are ideal for regenerative farming methods and have won several Delicious Produce Awards for their traditional flavour.

At Heritage Poultry, they also raise various egg-laying breeds and will be hosting a workshop on backyard chicken keeping for eggs, suitable breeds, and raising chicks. Additionally, visitors will have access to the animal nursery, activities for children, and food and drinks on the day.
