In 2023, Summer Land Camels and the Pickling Project successfully launched the inaugural Fermented Food Festival as part of Scenic Rim Eat Local Month.
The event showcased a diverse array of fermented practices, drawing in over 1,000 enthusiastic fermented food enthusiasts. As we gear up for the 2024 edition, our aim is to expand the festival, featuring an even greater variety of stalls and presentations.
We invite local fermenters in the Scenic Rim Region to be a part of this growing culinary celebration. If you specialise in any fermented practice or have knowledge about microorganisms including bacteria and fungi and how they are used to preserve and enhance the flavour of food, we encourage you to contribute to the festival’s success.
