Festival FAQs
Q1 - Can I bring my dog to the festival?
Answer: At Winter Harvest Festival we have poultry, camels and other livestock on-site. We ask that you leave dogs and all other domestic animals at home, with the exception of service or assistance animals. This generally applies when visiting working farms in region and it is always best to check direct with the event holder.
Q2 - Can I buy tickets at the gate?
Answer: We will offer gates sales unless the event sells out. We encourage you to pre-purchase to secure your tickets even if it just a few days before the event. You can purchase tickets on-line here.
Q3 - Where do I park at the event?
Answer: Ample FREE event parking is available at the Kalbar Showgrounds, accessed off Edward Street. There will be some road closures and traffic diversions in place for the festival and we ask that you follow the direction of traffic controllers and event staff and volunteers at all times. Accessible parking is also available on Edward Street.
Should you park in surrounding streets, we ask that you do not park over resident driveways.
Q4 - Will road closures be in place and how will that impact access to local shops?
Answer: Winter Harvest Festival will be held across several venues in Kalbar, including on George Street (between Edward Street and Railway Terrace), in Kalbar Civic Centre and park, and on the Salvation Army grounds. The road closure of the section of George Street will be in place from 6am Friday 28 June through to Midnight Saturday 29 June. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times to local businesses in this section of George Street, except during 9am – 5pm on Saturday 29 June when the event is taking place.
Consultation has taken place with impacted businesses and residents to ensure minimum disruption and access is maintained on the Friday during event set up.
If you have any questions or concerns we encourage you to reach out to the Regional Events team on 5540 5111. We are committed to working closely with local residents and businesses to minimise impacts and ensure the event is a success for the community of Kalbar.
Q5 - Will there be traffic congestion?
Answer: Some traffic congestion is to be expected and we ask that you add an additional 30mins to your trip. If you are coming from Brisbane, Springfield, Ipswich or Toowoomba, please be aware that Willowbank Raceway has an event on the same day and we recommend that you consider the following alternate routes to Kalbar:
