Songbirds Rainforest Retreat will host its popular Scenic Rim degustation during Eat Local Week.
Headchef, Jasper Kan, has been busy touring the region, sourcing ingredients for the five-course tasting menu.
“We can be really proud to live in this beautiful region,” he says.
“We have an abundance of great produce and passionate and talented people producing it. It was great to again meet up with these suppliers.”
The five-course menu features quail eggs from Tamborine Mountain Quails, rhubarb from Vanessa Bull, crayfish from Australian Crayfish Traders at Tarome, chorizo from Elite Meats in Boonah, pork from Neuendorf Farm at Kalbar, fruit and vegetables from Boonah Fruit Supply, sheep cheese from Towri Sheep Cheese, meat from the Aratula Butcher and cheese from Witches Chase Cheese.
The five-course tasting menu is offered for $88, or $128 per person with matching local wines.
The first three courses are set and guests have a choice for the other two courses.
The degustation lunch is offered daily from July 1 until July 5.
The dinner is offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
