Eat Local Week returns for 2015, from June 27 to July 5. This week-long celebration of the region’s food and farming culminates in the popular Winter Harvest Festival on Saturday July 4.

If you’re a food producer, a farmer, or are involved in the food, wine or craft beer industries, and you’d like to be involved in Eat Local Week, or the Winter Harvest Festival, register your interest now.

Eat Local Week asks visitors and Scenic Rim locals to consider their food choices and to recognise the vast array of products available on their doorstep. It also provides insight into how our fresh food is produced.

Past participants have reported an increase in visitation and sales both during Eat Local Week and after the event, as a result of their participation in Eat Local Week.

The average individual spend per head at the combined events was just under $61 per person; this equates to $932,675 in direct spending by visitors.

Businesses surveyed after the event reported an average weekly increase in turnover of 138%.

Every legally operation business located within the Scenic Rim Local Government boundary is eligible to apply to be involved. All events must display a strong connection to local food and/or food production, wine and brewed products. Events that have been created specially with Eat Local Week in mind, or can demonstrate a strong connection to local produce, will receive preference.

Eat Local Week is aimed at adults and children and a varied program is designed to suit all age groups. All applications will be assessed for suitability.
