Many of this year’s Eat Local Week events are booking up fast.

Two exclusive long table lunches, produced by Brisbane chefs Javier Codina and Cameron Matthews, have sold out.

Bookings are nearing capacity for the Kalfresh Carrot Field Day and the inaugural Scenic Kitchen cooking class at The Bunyip Scenic Rim Resort.

The full event schedule is now available online at www.eatlocalweek.com.au and in hardcopy from many Scenic Rim cafes, shops and Visitor Information Centres.

“I would encourage residents to read through the program and plan their Eat Local Week activities now,” says Mayor Greg Christensen.

“Some activities are nearing capacity, while others have an open door policy – just show up on the day. This is a great chance to savour our local flavours, bask in our scenery, and soak up the culture of our region.

“Winter Harvest Festival tickets can be pre-purchased online but it’s not essential. There is plenty of capacity at the Aratula Sports Complex site.”

Eat Local Week 2016 features more than 55 individual activities, many of them free and low-cost.
