Look out, and listen, for the latest Scenic Rim Eat Local news on your TV, radio and in your newspaper in the lead-up to the event.

Channel Seven’s The Great Day Out will screen a half-hour Scenic Rim Eat Local Week special this Sunday, June 3 at 5.30pm.

Crews from the show visited a number of Scenic Rim food and wine destinations, including Witches Falls Winery Tamborine Mountain, The Overflow Estate, Towri Sheep Cheeses and Peak Veggie Patch.

On Sunday, June 10 you’ll find the full Eat Local Week program in the Sunday Mail newspaper. Grab a copy and start planning your week of eating and drinking local.

The word is getting out further afield, too, with Flight Network listing Eat Local Week among Australia’s best food and drink festivals in 2018.

And keep your radio tuned to 97.3 FM between June 18 and 29 for a series of stories from the Scenic Rim.

The 97.3FM breakfast crew has been out in the region, visiting farms, meeting producers and trying the food, wine and beer that originates here.

97.3FM’s breakfast crew took to the sky with Pterodactyl Helicopters for a tasty tour of the Scenic Rim. Bob Gallagher and Terry Hansen called into farms, wineries and breweries ahead of Scenic Rim Eat Local Week, which plates up from June 30.

They met carrot farmers from Just Veg., tried their hand at camel whispering at Summer Land Camel Farm, and tasted local brews at Scenic Rim Brewery and Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm.

Then it was time for cuddles with the alpacas and lunch by the creek at Canungra Valley Vineyards.

The camels made quite the impression on Bob and Terry, and they spoke about them on the radio:

Bianca Dye met the furry, four-legged residents at Tommerup’s Dairy Farm and Farmstay in the Kerry Valley for the Wild Canary Longtable lunch on Saturday. She even spoke with Farmer Dave Tommerup on the radio a few days later:

The trio will share more stories about their farm adventures on-air from June 18, ahead of Eat Local Week.
