The GOMA Discovery + Degustation tour of the Scenic Rim was a hit.

Held on Saturday June 11, guests were at GOMA Cafe Bistro early for coffee and a welcome by QAGOMA executive chef and Eat Local Week ambassador Josh Lopez.

The tour took the group to the Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy outside Beaudesert, Lillydale Farm at Mt Barney and Kalfresh Vegetables at Kalbar.

The group met the farmers and learned about the paddock to plate journey. A Scenic Rim picnic-style lunch by local caterer Kate Raymont, was served to guests in the picturesque surrounds of the Lilydale Farm, which produces Angus Beef.

The farm’s baby goat was a hit with all of the guests.

The bus returned to the GOMA Restaurant and guests sat down for an incredible five-course degustation prepared by Josh and his team.

The menu featured Towri Farm Eweghurt, caviar and Aratula red claw crayfish, Kalbar carrot tartare and sourdough from Arthur Clive’s Bakehouse, Neuendorf Farm suckling pig, milk poached Young Farmers‘ veal and a Mt Tamborine Tamarillo, macadamia, honey and mallow dessert.

The meal was served with matched wines from Welgan Estate, Witches Falls Winery and Bunjurgen Vineyard.
