QAGOMA Executive Chef, Josue (Josh) Lopez, has been an enthusiastic supporter of Scenic Rim Eat Local week for the past three years.

For Eat Local Week 2017 he returns as a Regional Food Ambassador and has crafted a Scenic Rim menu for a special Eat Local Week lunch at GOMA Restaurant on June 29.

Josh appeared on Masterchef this week, setting contestants a challenge to recreate his signature emu dish, After the Eucalypt Fire.

Since first joining Scenic Rim Eat Local Week as an ambassador, Josh has spent time in the region, visiting farms and trying the produce. He now sources many local ingredients direct from Scenic Rim farmers.

We caught up with Josh recently to ask why he’s passionate about eating locally.
