Pack the gumboots and the giggles—this weekend is for the whole family!

If your little ones love animals, snacking on food they picked themselves, and getting their feet dirty, then this is your next family adventure. From decorating cupcakes in flower fields to cuddling camels and watching mighty Clydesdales strut their stuff, there’s hands-on fun for both kids and big kids at every turn.

You’ll explore real working farms, meet the friendly faces behind your food, and maybe even sneak in a few veggies while no one’s looking. It’s a paddock-to-playground weekend that’s part farm tour, part school holiday highlight, and 100% good old-fashioned country fun. Just don’t forget to bring your appetite—and maybe a wet wipe or two!

Event highlights

DAY 1 — Sat 14 June
Morning – Sat 14 June

Begin your family adventure with a visit to the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular in Beaudesert, where the kids can get up close with these majestic horses. Experience the thrill of watching these gentle giants in action with demonstrations and activities throughout the day.

Over in Harrisville, the Scenic Rim Farming Expo also offers fun and educational experiences for families, hobby farmers, and rural lifestyle enthusiasts. Discover the region’s agricultural history, sustainability practices, and innovations in farming (yes, this include backyard gardeners to big-acre farmers).

While you’re in region, be sure to visit Summer Land Camels and their Kid’s Camel Farm Adventure event, just ten minutes down the road. Kids will meet adorable camels, learn about life on a camel dairy farm, and, of course, snap a mandatory camel selfie!

Or, if your little ones are ready to unleash their creativity, head to Elderflower Farm for a fun-filled experience where flowers meet frosting. Their Edible Flower Picking and Cupcake Decorating event is the perfect treat for budding artists and sweet tooths alike!

DAY 2 — Sun 15 June
Morning – Sun 15 June

Ease into Sunday with another (or a first) visit to the Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular in Beaudesert, where the whole family can enjoy a full day of classic country fun. It’s the perfect slow-paced, soul-filling start to your day.

Noon

Pack a picnic or pop into one of the region’s local cafés – try Hummingbird Café in Beaudesert for a relaxed lunch with plenty of options for even the fussiest little eaters.

Fancy something more outdoorsy? Head to Scenic Rim Farm Shop & Café for paddock-side picnic tables, seasonal dishes, and fresh produce. The kids can run free while you sip a locally roasted coffee and stock up on goodies for the road. If you didn’t make it to the Scenic Rim Farming Expo or Summer Land Camels on Saturday, this afternoon is your chance to fit them in before hitting the road.
