No theme parks. No queues. No convincing required. Just real farms, real animals, real food, and the kind of memories that outlast the school term by years. Pack your sense of humour, an empty esky, and an appetite for the unexpected. The region will take care of everything else.

Event highlights

DAY 1 — Mon 29 June
Mon 29 June

Keep the kids entertained this Monday with three incredible Scenic Rim experiences. Mix, match, or do them all.

Veggie Picking with the Farmer | Valley Pride Produce Start: 9am | Duration: Up to 4 hours

The Scholl family opens their fifth-generation farm to young adventurers ready to wander the paddocks and dig carrots, beetroot, and kale straight from the soil. There is something deeply satisfying about a child pulling a vegetable from the earth and immediately wanting to eat it. Take your haul home for a homegrown feast that will taste considerably better for having been earned.

Veggie Picking with the Farmer Weekend Itinerary

O’Reilly’s Artisan Picnic & Alpaca Experience | O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards Start: From 10am | Duration: 2 hours

Creekside picnic, artisan food, and a 30-minute vineyard stroll with your very own alpaca companion. Wood-smoked meats, handmade cheeses, and house-made sweets for the kids, O’Reilly’s wines for the grown-ups who have absolutely earned it. The alpacas are unbothered by the excitement they generate and utterly delightful regardless.

Tour, Taste & Camel Encounter | Summer Land Camels Start: 10am or 12pm | Duration: 1 hour

Australia’s largest camel dairy opens its gates for a behind-the-scenes tour the whole family will be talking about. Meet the camels, discover why camel milk is causing such a stir in the food world, and sample award-winning cheese and gelato made right on the farm. Leave with a camel selfie. You won’t regret it.

Kick off the day at Valley Pride, head to O’Reilly’s for lunch, then finish at Summer Land Camels for the ultimate Monday adventure. Three experiences, one very happy family, and zero screen time required.

DAY 2 — Tues 30 June
Tues 30 June

Keep the kids entertained this Tuesday with three incredible Scenic Rim experiences. Mix, match, or do them all.

Veggie Picking with the Farmer | Valley Pride Produce Start: 9am | Duration: Up to 4 hours

The Scholl family are ready and waiting for another morning of paddock wandering and seasonal discovery. Different kids notice different things each time around. Let them lead and watch in wonder as they decide they may actually like vegetables when they’ve had a hand in the farming.

Little Farmer Humpty Day | Summer Land Camels Start: 9am | Duration: 2 hour sessions

The school holidays go out in style. Dust off your best farmer outfit, meet and pat the friendly camels and their adorable babies, snap a fridge-worthy selfie, and enjoy a guided tour of Australia’s largest camel dairy. Camel rides, face painting, and plaster painting available as optional extras.

O’Reilly’s Artisan Picnic & Alpaca Experience | O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards Start: From 10am | Duration: 2 hours

The alpacas are back and just as delightful as Monday. The particular joy of watching a child walk alongside an animal approximately their own size with complete and utter seriousness never gets old. Settle creekside after the stroll into wood-smoked meats, handmade cheeses, fresh salads, and house-made sweets, with O’Reilly’s wines for the grown-ups who have absolutely earned it.

Start the day at Valley Pride, head to O’Reilly’s for a creekside lunch, then close out the holidays at Summer Land Camels with the silliest, most joyful send-off before the school bell rings again. Go out with a bang.
