Scenic Rim Eat Local Month 2026 Program

Long Lunches & Dinners

In 2026, 40+ long lunches, degustations, and dinners were all expertly prepared by our local producers, chefs and Food Ambassadors. Guests dined among the vines overlooking Lake Wyaralong, beneath towering rainforest canopies, or around long tables on working farms and private country estates. From multi-course tasting menus and vineyard feasts to relaxed paddock lunches, campfire cooking and immersive paddock-to-plate experiences, every event celebrated the flavours, landscapes and people of the Scenic Rim.

Beaudesert State High School proudly hosting its first Next Generation Homegrown Lunch under the guidance of Chef Shinade Harper and Junior Ambassador Chef Alby Pieper, while Fox Hill Grove made an unforgettable debut with two beautifully curated events. Together, these first-time experiences showcased the passion, talent and hospitality that will help shape the future of the Scenic Rim's food and tourism community.

Workshops & Experiences

Visitors embraced the opportunity to do more than simply taste the Scenic Rim they immersed themselves in it. From e-bike picnic trails, beekeeping and rainforest foraging to cocktail making, citrus liqueur crafting, pickling and hands-on cooking classes, guests experienced the region through the eyes of its passionate growers, makers and chefs. Along the way, they discovered sustainable farming practices, artisan techniques and local flavours, creating lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the people, produce and stories that make the Scenic Rim so unique

Family Friendly Adventures on Farm

Screen time was swapped for green time as little ones got their hands dirty picking fresh vegetables straight from the paddock, decorating cupcakes with edible flowers and cooking damper over a campfire. They met friendly Highland cattle, camels, sheep, goats and chickens, explored behind the scenes of working farms, carved their own wands and swords, and even made natural face paint using clay and rocks.

Filled with hands-on fun and unforgettable moments, these on-farm adventures sparked curiosity, creativity and a love of the outdoors, creating lasting memories for the whole family and perhaps inspiring a new skill or two along the way.

Festivals & Farmers Markets

Only during Eat Local Month could visitors experience the heart and soul of the Scenic Rim, where passionate farmers, talented artisans, dedicated producers and local makers came together to celebrate the region's incredible food, people and landscapes.

Local live music echoed across the Scenic Rim, from relaxed sunset sessions on Tamborine Mountain to lively kick-ons in Kalbar. Visitors discovered the art of fermentation at the Fermented Food Festival, stepped back in time to uncover the wisdom of generations past at A Celebration of Lost Culinary Arts, and immersed themselves in the region's rich farming heritage through the Winter Harvest Festival and authentic on-farm experiences. Every event offered the chance to connect with the people behind the produce and experience the stories, flavours and traditions that make the Scenic Rim so special.

Winter Harvest Weekend

Winter Harvest Weekend delivered four unforgettable days of food, farming and celebration. Guests enjoyed the Winter Harvest Dinner at Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm, stepped back in time at A Celebration of Lost Culinary Arts, explored the region's signature Winter Harvest Festival, and danced the night away at the Harvest Hoedown. On Sunday, visitors toured the Scenic Rim with Food Ambassador Javier Codina, connected with fifth-generation farmers at Valley Pride Produce, experienced Progressive Paddock's vintage LandCruiser tasting adventure, and rounded out the weekend at the Roadvale Hotel's Farm to Table Long Lunch. It was a busy but unforgettable finale, bringing the community together for the perfect send-off to another remarkable Eat Local Month.
