Foraged, Fired and Farmed Lunch
Discover wild flavours and fire-cooked delights in the heart of the rainforest. Feast on a grazing table of foraged and locally farmed produce including mushrooms, saltbush chips, and green tree ants, while chefs prepare smoked beef brisket and flame-grilled corn over a live charcoal pit, finishing with a marshmallow roast to end the lunch.

Nestled in a stunning hinterland location, this vibrant event brings together local farmers, food artisans, boutique market stalls, and live acoustic music. Meet the makers, sample seasonal delights, and shop directly from the growers. Be sure to pack your picnic blanket and fill your esky with local treasures, or indulge in a delicious breakfast or lunch at the award-winning Picnic Real Food Bar.
Feast over Flames
Join executive chef duo Chris and Alex Norman of the two-chef-hatted restaurant The Paddock, as they serve up a delicious five-course menu, cooked over Beechmont Estate’s signature wood-fire grill. Expect bold, flame-kissed flavours paired with exceptional local wines as the afternoon unfolds across Beechmont Estate’s rolling hills.

Kick off the weekend at the gorgeous Forgotten Sound Farm at the base of Tamborine Mountain with a hands-on workshop exploring small-scale farming and abundant growing practices. Take a deep dive into effective gardening techniques on a biodiverse organic half-acre farm, and receive valuable resources on the top 10 crops to grow at home in this climate!

Settle in for a slow lunch with big views. The fire-to-fork feast (SOLD OUT) at the spectacular Binna Burra Lodge features foraged ingredients, including mushrooms, saltbush chips, and green tree ants, smoked beef brisket and flame-grilled corn over a live charcoal pit, finishing with a marshmallow roast to end the lunch. Or for something a little different, visit Witches Falls Winery on Tamborine Mountain for a joyful afternoon, sipping your way through wine tastings and grazing on delicious charcuterie.
While you’re here, take time to wander the artisan shops, explore rainforest trails, or enjoy a Modern Amaro tasting at The Loborn Tasting Bar—an Australian twist on the classic apéritif made with native and Tamborine-grown botanicals. It’s the perfect way to deepen your connection with the land and culture of this unique food region.

How to officially farewell Autumn? Overnight in the mountains of the Scenic Rim of course!
If you attended the event at Binna Burra Lodge, extend the experience with an overnight stay surrounded by nature. Welcome the first day of winter and start your Sunday with a visit to the Eat Local Produce & Makers Market at the acclaimed Picnic Real Food Bar on Tamborine Mountain. Grab a coffee, fill your tote with farm-fresh finds, connect with local makers and if you can, meet Scenic Rim Food Ambassador chef Brenda Fawdon from Picnic, she’s a sustainable food powerhouse.
Noon
Gather at Beechmont Estate for a five-course long lunch (SOLD OUT), where local produce meets bold, fire-cooked flavours. Join executive chef duo Chris and Alex Norman of the two-hatted restaurant as they serve a shared menu paired with local wines, with a stroll through the estate’s gardens and marshmallow toasting by the fire to finish. Trust us, this is a bucket-list experience, and a brilliant drive to get there.
