Meet the Makers

Feb 20, 2018 | Media, News

The Scenic Rim is home to some fabulous farmers, producers, and chefs.

These talented people are the backbone of Scenic Rim Eat Local Week, where you can visit the farms, taste the food and meet the makers.

Four Scenic Rim foodie locals spoke with ABC Gold Coast’s Nicole Dyer for her Foodie Friday segment.

Listen to Nicole’s chat with dairy farmers Dave and Kay Tommerup, who reveal how diversification, and a move into agritourism, has enabled them to stay on the farm that’s been in the family since 1874.

In this interview, chef Brenda Fawdon and writer and photographer Christine Sharp share their love for the Scenic Rim and talk about the second edition of their book EAT LOCAL, released in May 2018.
