Bring your kids to the Scenic Rim these school holidays to be part of the Eat Local Week fun.
Eat Local Week is a celebration of farming, food and eating local and runs during the first week of the school holidays from June 28 to July 6.
The event features free and low-cost activities right across the region, including farm tours, kids’ cooking classes, bush tucker excursions, wild pizza foraging and the signature event, the Winter Harvest Festival on Saturday July 5.
Scenic Rim Eat Local Week encourages food lovers of all ages to get to know their local farmer, to think about the journey their food has made from paddock to plate and to source in-season food from suppliers close to home.
The Scenic Rim is a fertile region, one hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, where the rich volcanic soil sustains a range of products, including vegetables, beef, pork, chicken, jams, wines, olives and cheese.
