The kids will love this Eat Local Week activity.

It has it all – space to run, yummy local products and gorgeous alpacas.

Emma Johnson is offering her Alpaca Picnic Experience over three days during Eat Local Week.

She invites visitors to bring a picnic to her stunning Triple Peaks property in the foothills of Mt Barney and enjoy her relaxed picnic area.

Emma is offering tastings of the local products she sells through her Scenic Rim Hampers business.

And there will be plenty of time to meet the four-legged locals … her herd of friendly alpacas and one Llama.

“The alpacas all have their own unique personalities and they all have names. They’re very much our pets and are a big part of our lives. They’re very friendly and each has a different personality.

“Our visitors always have a laugh with the alpacas and love seeing them interact with each other.”

Emma has been on her Mt Barney property since 2013 and says visitors always comment on the natural beauty of the region.

“We invite guests to enjoy our picnic area, relax on our hessian cushions and enjoy their picnic alongside the alpaca herd.

“We have a self serve tea and coffee bar and we will have hampers assembled for people to purchase to take home or add to their BYO picnic.

“It’s a great opportunity for people to see the types of products being produced in the area.”

The hampers feature a range of products, depending on season, but typically include wine, beer, verjuice, olive oil, table olives, jam, relish, chutney, syrup, honey, macadamia nuts, fudge, beef jerky, loose leaf tea, soap and beauty products.

The Alpaca Picnic is on June 25, 26 and July 3 from 10.30am to 3pm. Entry is $15pp or $10pp for groups of 10+. Kinds under 12 are free.
