Thinking ahead to the weekend? This Sunday, 25 September, Scenic Rim farms are opening their farm gates and inviting you in.
Does a scenic Sunday drive (just over an hour from Brisbane or the Gold Coast) meeting the locals and taking home some of our finest produce sound appealing? Then have we got an itinerary for you!
The delightful Rod and Kathy from Ayton Farm are having their FIRST EVER Farm Shop on Sunday from 10am -12noon. Enjoy a beautiful drive to Rathdowney and collect their amazing pastured eggs and meat chickens as well as other goodies.
Time for coffee? Then stop by The Shed Cafe at Rathlogan Grove – just 9 minutes down the road from Ayton Farm, where Matt and Lou will delight you with country hospitality and a bit of retail therapy as well as sampling their olives and olive oils.
We suggest you make a day of it and continue on to Tommerup’s Dairy Farm who are holding their Springtime on the Farm event in the ridiculously good-looking Lost World from 11am – 3pm. You can feed the animals, talk with the ridgy-didge 5th and 6th generation farming family and stock up at their Farm Larder – including ethically raised meat, White Gold Creamery Cheese and even the launch of a new product – The Farmhouse Pork Pie – the result of a collaboration with Brisbane based The Goat Pie Guy. You won’t want to miss this one!
